ON THE GOOD NEWS SHOW 103.6fm, SUNDAY 16TH JANUARY

On the Good News Show this week I'll be continuing our discussion on: 'The message behind the music' I'm asking the questions:

'Do you think music has the power to influence people?' and 'Can music have subliminal messages behind it?'

It would be great to get some comments for the show. Let me know here what you're thinking.
You can post your comments here even after the date of the show or visit my Facebook opposite and leave a comment. Or visit the Good News Show's group (THE GOOD NEWS SHOW GROUP) on Facebook.

Also on the Show, I'll be looking at the life of Lilian Baylis, a woman of prayer. she was an English theatrical producer and manager who managed the Old Vic and Sadler's Wells theatres in London, and ran an opera company, which became the English National Opera (ENO), a theatre company, which evolved into the English National Theatre, and a ballet company, which eventually became the English Royal Ballet.

There's also information on several events:

A DAY IN THE PRESENCE OF THE KING - EIGHT HOUR PRAISE AND WORSHIP DAY - HIGHER IN PRAISE MINISTRIES AND NEW LIFE TOKYNGTON COMMUNITY CHURCH

This ministry invites you to an exciting and ambitious initiative of an 8 hour praise and worship event on Saturday 5 February. Higher in Praise Ministries is organising this event in conjunction with New Life Tokyngton Family Church in Wembley. This event promises to be an amazing time spent in the Presence of the King worshipping his name.

A little about Higher in Praise...

For over 7 years now Higher in Praise Ministries has been organising monthly evenings of worship in which it brings together worshippers who want to spend time in the presence of the King. These events have been extremely amazing in which time there have been prophetic impartations, blessing the land and the birthing of new initiatives, projects and ministries.

Audrey Linton, founder of HIP (Higher in Praise) states, 'For those of you who have attended these events, I am sure you can truly say they have been a unique experience and for those who have not yet attended, then perhaps you will join us on Saturday 5 February for an hour or two or even stay the full 8 hours.'

Their motto is ‘No spectators only participators’ and as well as calling you to come and get soaked in the presence of the King, Audrey says, 'we are also looking for worship leaders, backing singers and musicians who would like to be firstfruit partakers and will be able to offer their time for at least 2 hours to be part of the rota of worship team.'

Audrey goes on further to say, 'We intend to have various worship teams over the course of the 8 hours and if you are willing to get involved then please let me know, so that we can add you to our rota. No, we are not looking for professionals, just people who are available and obedient to ‘hear and do’. Higher in Praise ethos is about expressing free worship and you will be briefed about that nearer the time.'

RECEPTION FOR NOEL ROBINSON'S RENEWAL CONFERENCE AND LAUNCH OF THE ALBUM 'RAIN' 2010

The reception was aimed at worship leaders and pastors and took place on 13 January 2010 at Novotel London West, 1 Shortlands, London W6 8DR at 7.30pm.

Noel Robinson, is one of the UK's foremost worship leaders and he used the reception to share details of his forthcoming Renewal conference as well as launch Rain 2010, the new album recorded during a conference held earlier this year.

I almost decided not to attend because of the time I headed out for the reception (after 9pm). But I'm glad I made the effort. The reception was over subscribed and God's presence was thick in the reception room. The event was hosted by Noel Robinson and in attendance were some of the UK's most recognisable worship leaders and praise and worship song writers and producers such as Graham Kendrick and Mark Beswick. Kim Mazelle, who had a hit with Soul II Soul on their 1990 single "Missing You.",and one of the early shapers of house music, was present as well and shared her experience of the reception,'The event was amazing', and in describing the cd 'Rain' enthused, 'I think the cd 'Rain' and the whole "Renewal' concept is absolutely awesome...I came here for an event and got filled with the spirit'

Tune in to the good news show,on Sunday 16th to hear what participants had to say about the reception and hear some of the songs from the Rain album.

The main event, the Renewal Conference, will take place from 27-29 January 2011 and feature Noel Robinson, Bishop John Francis, Mark Beswick, Nicky Brown Graham Kendricks, Lara Martin, Sonny Badu, Doug Williams and a host of other leading worship leaders and teachers for three days of worship, teaching and revival. On January 27th, enjoy One City - One Sound where worship teams from Glory House, Ruach Ministries and KICC will minister in song. From January 28-29 experience daily workshops on songwriting, recording and production, vocals, dance and movement and much more. They'll be prophetic worship sessions in the evening. Visit www.thekwm.co.uk for more details.

In the first hour of the show 9-10am, I'll be playing a selection of urban gospel music from different genres.

Between 10 and 11am I'll be speaking good news, reviewing some of the week's stories through the eyes of faith.

I'll also be in the mix from 11-12pm blending soulful house, including a track by Kim Mazelle.

If you have a gospel event you would like promoting or you're an artist or activist then post your details here and I'll get back in touch with you.

Our shows will soon be available on podcasts and full playlists will also be available
